I think the most important discovery in the history was penicillin (discovered by Alexander Fleming) -the first antibiotic that allowed to eliminate many diseases previously common in the world.

Well I think we're overusing it. It had the potential to become a revolutionary treatment but people destroyed its chances. I think we should use more unconventional medicine: it's amazing!
